Hi,
I have a problem where the homepage will not stay to what I have changed it to. It is currently set to a site called topsearch which is a premium rate search site. When I try change this site and apply it, it just reverts straight back to the topsearch site.
I have tried to change the registry settings, which again just revert back once you exit out of the registry.
I have also run spybot to try to get rid of the problem. This keeps on finding the same seven problems, deletes them and then they reappear if spybot is run again. I have also run AVG virus software and Adaware virus software. None have managed to remove the problem.

TURN OFF System Restore and reboot into Safe Mode.
Run both Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware (having first ensured they are up to date) and remove whatever they find (anything RED in Spybot S&D).
Reboot to Active Desktop and turn back on System Restore.

I believe that Topsearch is installed through Kazaa. Chances are that by uninstalling it Kazaa may quit working. If you have Kazaa, uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.
By the way-if you have Kazaa, I guarantee that you have at least a dozen other spyware installed on your unit. Last time it took me an hour to kill everything from a Kazaa download.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day;
Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime;
Then industry pollutes the water and kills all the fish.

There's a great little program called 'Kazaabegone' that will get rid of Kazaa and all the rest of the junk that comes with it.
