Hi, please help! Every time I go on the internet i get a "cool-search" homepage instead of "Google", even when I change my homepage back to google when i reboot and go on the internet again the same "cool-search" web page comes back. I've tried using Ad-aware (which recognises the cool-search registry and removes it and it still comes back) and also Spybot hasn't solved the problem. Therefore, I've used "HyjackThis" as suggested and here is the saved log below, could you tell me which files to delete please:

Cool Web Search removal tool here:

CWShredder

Unzip the file, d.click cwshredder.exe, click check for update..if there is a newer version you can replace the one you have.
Have all IE windows closed (also better if done offline)
Click next (not just scan)
Allow tool to run
Click next again to see what was done.
There is also a link on the bottom of the tool window to help prevent reinfection...worth the read.

Repost fresh log when done

same problem, except being redirected to coolwebsearch.net.... also child porn site added to favorites.

I have run Hijack this and CW shredder... It still comes back upon rebooting....

What shall I do?

Have only hijack running while offline and choose the following to fix.

Reboot when done.
That should fix it.

running both cw shredder and hijack this cleared it off my system nicely (finally!!). A useful page for sorting out which .dll's (in the hijack this log) are Cool Web's and which aren't is

It also has manual removal instructions if you have all day to do it by hand.

I keep setting my homepage to Google or hotmail. However everytime a restart my computer it goes back to this webseach.net homepage or http://www.xpsn.com/Search/PowerSearch.asp?ekw=KgFeDhcLBAcBTlwGWw5RUw==&app=100 any suggestions of how i can allow google or hotmail to stay as the homepage and not keep reverting back to these websites everytime i turn off my computer
