CPU/Ram: AMD Athalon(tm) XP 1900+,

i cant get rid of the stupid pice of software (Home Search Assistent), tryed everything that has been said on countless websites.

what should i do? Im running on Windows 2000, and i have the latest IE update. Please help. On my Add/Remove programs i see Home Search Assistent, Search Explorer and Shopping Wizard.

Before running any removal tools, have you first disabled System Restore? Malware loves to hide in SR. When it's running, the files cannot be accessed for cleaning. Hence, the malware is brought back. Disabling SR dumps its files--and the malware along with them. :)

I thought System Restore was XP only, and im running on 2000, so how do you disable the System Restore on 2000?

You might want to also check your win.in and sys.ini files for a reference to the program.

Hi Dalveen,
just a quick question, have you done a search for a file called webdlg32.dll
this is the old cw hijacker file only updated and renamed if you find it please email or post a reply. i've managed to successfully get rid of it and i'm currently writing a program to do it for other users.
