Hi, I recently got a home page hijacker on my computer, I believe it is searchx, every time I remove it and the corresponding values with hijack this, the hijacker still comes back. Ive tried everything I can to remove the problem, eventually I locked my page on google, yet somehow this program managed to unlock my homepage reset it to about:blank, and then relock the page. I made a thread about this 2 days ago, but it mysteriously disappeared, can anyone offer an explanation, I feel that if you are going to remove someone's thread they should be sent and explanation, anyway if anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

Download & run either Adaware or Spybot-Search & Destroy

I have used norton, spybot S&D, ad-aware 6.0 Bazooka spyware scanner, spysweeper by webroot, nothing detects it.

Zane You have CoolWebSearch Hijack. First try running CWShredder while offline and in safe mode (tap f8 on boot). HIt "fix" not just scan. Reboot when done...run again just to be sure. Before running shredder....disable any program you use to lock home page settings or it won't work. eg: if you used spybot to lock home page.
