Please go to Message 12318 in Security/Virus to see prior postings, especially the solution in #8; my friends are experiencing roughly the same symptoms. I have run SpyBot, Ad-Aware, CWS and it is not fixed and I am out of time and patience.
Below is what I posted in Sec/Virus Msg 12318, response #9.I have been helping a friend with a similar problem - their home defaults to res://qqzhn.dll/index.html#2276 and, even with a pop up stopper, they get these "Only the Best" pop ups. It also adds x-rated favorites. (his family bought a Dell -- I was in tech support for 3 years and get to fix it every time they get a virus, or anything!) Ugh, enough complaining.
I see the detailed Response #8 by BuGS to clean things up but I was about to suggest to my friend it's time to call Dell and reformat/build. Will that clear things up? It's not possible for me to be their on-call support person and I don't think they have the skills/diligence to perform the clean-up, regular updates and continued maintenance.
Looking forward to any/all replies.
Also, did my friends get this b/c they actually clicked on/into one of the pop ups to get this problem? They say they never go to them, but they are always running into these kinds of problems.
Thanks in advance.

Same problem here and it seems to be directed at IE6. Some of the xxxx.dlls that keep popping up cannot be defeated by Spybot, Hijack, Xoftspy, Spyblaster etc. as these mongrels re-invent themselves and change name.
The initial symptons when running IE6 and hitting the Go button, are a pop-up ad window followed by another window(http://search-to-find.com) co-existing with the original window. When I hit the home page button I find that it has been hijacked by something like this ..res://zmwzx.dll/index.html#96676. The IE6 personal settings are lost as well and I have the default IE6 appearance. When running Opera in parallel to IE6 - no problems at all. This problem seems to be deep rooted. I am running 1.3 Ghz Win xp pro. Norton AV and all the above mentioned spyware killers.

Had the same problem:( Took me two and a half days to at least to get my browser back. I am not computer savvy but somehow muddled my way through this problem.
First I followed the direction of a post from atomicdog420 dated 6/16/04. I also used direction form Microsoft "how to mannually remove programs from the add/remove progrm list . The link is http://support.microsoft.com/degault.aspx?kbid-247501. When you get to this step you are looking for the following three programs to remove, HSA (Home Shopping Assistent) SW (Shopping Wizard) and SE (Search Extender) I also used hijack this bhblaster, adaware(spyware scan) and trendmicro (spyware scan), these can all be downloaded.Idid all of the steps in the secure mode and regular mode.
While this was very tedious, I finally have my browser back, I am not sure if I got rid of Home Search Assistent or just patched over it. GOOD LUCK!

Thankfully I have convinced my friends it's time to start over. I am moving away from them soon and they know I won't be around for tech support.
I'll be doing an f-disk and clean up of the master boot record and rebuilding their PC this weekend.
Guess we're throwing in the towel. :-)
Thanks for the help.

Lets do a Whois search for the owner of www.search-to-find.com and call and/or send this owner a (free) fax to ask for explanation......
