Would you kindly help me with a Hijack This log?
My Internet Explorer is hijacked, and starts repeatedly when I don't want it to.
Norton antivirus says the infection is Adware.Look2Me, but doesn't delete the infection.
And one of the problem files isn't deletable by hand, I just get an error message saying Windows isrunning it: RmASIG.DLL in C:\Windows\system.

Uninstall every unknown program from safe mode, in add and remove programs. Only have programs your confident in, and know who they're from, and what they do.
Then do a quick head count in your program files. Look for any bogus folders that are in their but not listed in your add and remove programs.
Now while your in safe mode, run fully versions of BOTH Adaware and Spybot S&D 1.3, along with CWShredder 1.59.1.
The important bit is to make sure they are fully updated before you start on any of this.
Now if any of those rogue folders are still their in your program files (but not add & remove programs) after doing the above, then delete them while your still in safe mode.
Do that FIRST and you might find you don't need to post a HijackThis log, but in case you do, make sure you run the latest version - HijackThis 1.98.2. But post an outcome first before you post one.

Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem.
Adware runs in safe mode, much much of its menu is unreachable and it won;'t delete threats that way.
It did find and eliminate a lot of stuff (mostly cookies) in normal mode. But Adware Look2Me (Norton's classificaiton) won't go.
I get the error message that Windows is using the file, when I attempt to delete manually.
My browser is still getting hijacked periodically, more often when I'm on line.Any other advice?
Ian
