My explorer browser appears to have been hijacked and is taking me to a homepage at http://ssearch.biz/?wmid=1010.
I have installed and ran Adaware and Spybot and have not been able to fix this problem.

Each time I am using Internet explorer, Nortons Security is blocking y.exe and tbyz.exe. These files were both created around the time I began experiencing this problem. However, I can't delete them. They are located in C:\WINDOWS\System32\tbyz.exe and C:\WINDOWS\System32\services\y.exe. I'm not sure if these are the only problems.

Also, the back and forwared buttons on my browser have also been "greyed out". I'm not sure if this was caused by the hijack or earlier 'fixes' performed by Adaware and Spybot.

Can somebody please help with this?

Try using the tool CWShredder, this should solve your problem. After running, you'll have to change you home page back to you choice.

Let me know how it goes

Thanks.

I installed and ran CWShredder and it removed y.exe. Now I get a message when I start the computer saying that the file C:\WINDOWS\System32\services\y.exe could not be found etc.

However, I am still being redirected to a homepage at http://ssearch.biz/?wmid=1010.
Also, the back and forward buttons are still not working on my browser.

I have used HijackThis to remove tbyz.exe and a few other files.

Any thoughts on what else I should do?

Hi,

Thanks for your help. I have since downloaded adwareaway from www.adwareaway.com.

This has fixed my problem with the ssearch.biz hijacked browser.
