HI Eternity,

Run an updated Spybot Search and Destroy ( http://security.kolla.de/ ) and fix all items in RED and reboot. Then after closing all browser windows, fix the items listed below that are remaining using HijackThis and then reboot again.

Four of the most recommended anti-spyware programs are SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard and Spybot S&D and Ad-aware. If you install all four programs, keep them updated, and scan with Spybot S&D and Ad-aware periodically, you will be fairly well-protected from spyware.

Thought I would mention that SpywareGuard includes a browser hijack stopper (Javacool calls it Browser Hijack Blaster) that protects your system from browser hijackers and spyware that alters your Internet Explorer settings.

Good Luck!

Hi Darkflippah,

Sure go right ahead.
Go to http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ and download HijackThis. After starting HijackThis, click the scan button which will change into a save log button. Save the logfile and also copy and paste the results back here in this thread. Most items reported by HijackThis are valid, so don’t fix anything yet.

Hi Darkflippah,

Run an UPDATED Spybot Search and Destroy ( http://security.kolla.de/ ) and fix all items in RED and reboot. Then after closing all browser windows, fix the items listed below that are remaining using HijackThis and then reboot again.

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.hrvg.tk
If this URL is something you use leave it alone. (http://www.hrvg.tk links to an offsite frame called http://free.hostdepartment.com/c/cndm which says “coming soon” I would fix this.)

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {2CF0B992-5EEB-4143-99C2-5297EF71F44A} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\stlbupdt.DLL
SearchandClick Toolbar - certified spyware/foistware, or other malware

O3 - Toolbar: Search - {2CF0B992-5EEB-4143-99C2-5297EF71F44B} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\stlbupdt.DLL
See SearchandClick Toolbar above

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [{2CF0B992-5EEB-4143-99C2-5297EF71F44B}] rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\stlbupdt.DLL,DllRunMain
See SearchandClick Toolbar above

--------------
I don’t know if the toolbar you dislike was removed. If it was not, then fix the following entries also. (Mybar is not considered maleware, although it may have installed without your permission.)

O2 - BHO: myBar BHO - {0494D0D1-F8E0-41ad-92A3-14154ECE70AC} - C:\Program Files\MyWay\myBar\1.bin\MYBAR.DLL

O3 - Toolbar: &SearchBar - {0494D0D9-F8E0-41ad-92A3-14154ECE70AC} - C:\Program Files\MyWay\myBar\1.bin\MYBAR.DLL
--------------

DO NOT FIX this entry using HijackThis.

The following O10 entry was probably the result of ShopAtHomeSelect – See http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/ShopAtHomeSelect.html
You must use the tool LSPFix from http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm to deregister the LSP part of ShopAtHomeSelect (lsp.dll). Tell it to 'Remove' lsp.dll and 'Keep' the rest.

O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'lsp.dll' missing
--------------

For the future see: So how did I get infected in the first place? http://www.net-integration.net/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=38;t=3051

hellow,

I followed the instructions and everything went fine, thanks, except the ShopAtHome -stuff. this is a program someone else installed using this computer. i thought i deleted the program.
But do I have to run the "LSPFix"-tool to remove ShopAtHome or to make it work again?
I don't need this program...

greetz...

Hi Darkflippah,

LSP-Fix will not reinstall ShopAtHome, nor is it removing it.

You did delete ShopAtHome and it is gone. However during the removal process there was created a problem with the Winsock LSP chain.

LSP-Fix repairs the Winsock LSP chain by removing the entries left behind when LSP software is removed by hand (or when errors in the software itself break the LSP chain), and removes any gaps in the chain.

So all you will be doing is deregistering the LSP part of ShopAtHomeSelect which does not exist ('lsp.dll' missing).

Hi, everyone:

I used Spybot to remove many bugs,
but I still can't remove the "http://www.couldnotfind.com/search_page.html?&account_id=132156"

I deleted it under regedit, but it still automatically appears, like ghost.

Could you please kindly tell me how to remove it clearly?

many thanks.
