the slowdown in performance is probably due to all the crap you have running in the background.

But i noticed w3dbsmgr is being loaded.

W3DBSMgr.exe

(Pervasive Software) Database Service Manager for Pervasive SQL 2000 Workgroup edition, also called the Database Engine or the MicroKernel engine. It runs on the workgroup PC which you have designated as the Pervasive SQL server and shows as an icon in the System Tray if it is started by the Startup Folder, otherwise there is no icon in the System Tray if it is started via the Registry.

Recommendation :
If you use Pervasive SQL, you need the Database Engine to be running, so you should leave this task alone. That said, the Database Engine, W3DBSMGR, has a tendency to crash or freeze the PC it is running on if it is started at boot-up via the Startup folder at the same time as other programs – our recommendation in this scenario is that you take the Database Engine out of the Startup and start it manually when all the other auto-started programs have finished opening.

got this from Task List Programs

you should weed out all that stuff running that you aren't using on a daily basis.

HI Chris,

Run an updated Spybot Search and Destroy ( http://security.kolla.de/ ) and fix all items in RED and reboot. Then after closing all browser windows, fix the items listed below that are remaining using HijackThis and then reboot again.

After reboot then delete the following:
The folder SuperBar at C:\Program Files\SuperBar

--------------
For the future see: So how did I get infected in the first place? http://www.net-integration.net/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=38;t=3051

Four of the most recommended anti-spyware programs are SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard and Spybot S&D and Ad-aware. If you install all four programs, keep them updated, and scan with Spybot S&D and Ad-aware periodically, you will be fairly well-protected from spyware.

Thought I would mention that SpywareGuard includes a browser hijack stopper (Javacool calls it Browser Hijack Blaster) that protects your system from browser hijackers and spyware that alters your Internet Explorer settings.

Good Luck!
