g'day saraxxxx,
Could you please check that your version of AdAware is Build 6.181, and that you have clicked on the Globe icon to get the latest reference file.

Also could you please locate the following files and submit them.

C:\WINDOWS\System32\iefeatures.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\internetfeatures.exe

In order to find them, you have to open "Start>Search>All files and folders" , click on "More advanced options" and then "Search in hidden files and folders" and "Search in system folders"

Submission site:
[url=http://www.lavahelp.com/submit/]Submit Site[/url]
you will find the instructions and everything you will need to make this process quick and easy.

Thanks

Hi saraxxxx

First can you put hijackthis in its own folder since it makes backups and will make a mess of your shortcut folder.
I suggest...: c:\hijack\hijackthis.exe We have best chance for recovery this way if a mistake is made.

Start hijackthis again and check the following:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://popnav.com
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://popnav.com

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O1 - Hosts: 64.91.255.87 www.dcsresearch.com
O2 - BHO: Clear Search - {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000240} - C:\Program Files\ClearSearch\IE_ClrSch.DLL (file missing)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MSVersion] C:\WINDOWS\System32\internetfeatures.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iefeatures] C:\WINDOWS\System32\iefeatures.exe

O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://207.188.7.150/261f04a2181833cf7819/netzip/RdxIE601.cab

These are not "problems" just resorce hogs and recommend fixing for better system performance:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
O4 - Global Startup: Logitech Desktop Messenger.lnk = C:\Program Files\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\LDMConf.exe
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.exe
O8 - Extra context menu item: E&xport to Microsoft Excel - res://C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\Office10\EXCEL.EXE/3000
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [LDM] \Program\BackWeb-8876480.exe

Close all browser windows, explorer windows, and click "fix checked"

Reboot the computer and delete the following: (you will need to show hidden files as cannymum said.)

c:\windows\system32\internetfeatures.exe <-this file

c:\windows\system32\iefeatures.exe <-this file (If you can't find this one...its possible ad-aware or spybot removed it already)

As a precaution I would also run an updated scan with norton or you can do an online scan here:
If you do the online scan...disable norton while it is scanning to prevent conflicts.

Housecall

Post a fresh hijack log when done.

Thanks!
