What program is causing the alert to display? Is it a standard Windows error? A Javascript pop-up or a message in the browser itself?
If you have an anti-virus suite installed, it's possible that you've over-protected yourself and refused downloads with certain file extensions. If this is the case, you will need to bust open the configurations for your anti-virus and downgrade the restrictions so that it doesn't get in the way.
