Comment:

my comp was running slow I suspected virus/spyware so I did a full system scan using ad-aware (fully updated) and it found nothing.

did a full system scan with norton (fully updated) and found nothing.

did an online virus scan at trend micro (house call) and it found some sort of virus/spyware. its name is "trak_se.781" there were also some other virus/spyware all beginning with "trak_se..." then some numbers.

before i could delete it, house call froze as well as internet explorer.

had to restart. deleted temp files and internet history etc. before doing the scan again.

same thing happens. house call finds the virus/spyware "trak_se..." and just freezes.

did a search on google on "trak_se..." and found most of the web pages on it were in different languages.

there were other websites on it, in english but i was afraid those websites might not be genuine(could have a virus or other nasty stuff on it)

can anyone help me remove it?

thanks

Have you run most of the free spyware programs besides Adaware SE?
First d/l and run both Crap Cleaner and ATF-Cleaner to get rid of all the cookies and other useless files...then run
Spybot S&D and immunize
Spyware Blaster
Then try a free active X On-line Spyware Scan
Post back if the problem still exists

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Run this free online scan from Kaspersky http://kaspersky.com/kos/english/kavwebscan.html
Click Accept
When the updates are finished downloading, click Next, Scan Settings
Under Scan using the following antivirus database:, select extended
Make sure the Scan Archives and Scan Mail Bases options are selected as well. Click OK
Click My Computer and wait for the scan to finish
Click Save Report As. Under Save as type:, select Text file. Save this log to your Desktop.

Please post a Hijack This log so that the files associated with the virus/spyware/hijacker can be identified. You can download Hijack This at this link http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ then place it into a folder of it's on, such as C:\HJT, so that back up copies can be made and not clutter your desktop or other folders and the backup copies of deleted items can be easily located if needed.

Once saved double click HijackThis.exe, and press "Scan". When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log, Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents into the text editor at this forum along with the Kaspersky log.

Do not fix anything yet unless you know what you are doing. This is a powerful tool that can crash the computer if used improperly.
