I'd just like to share a Trojan experience. I've been running and scanning with AVG religiously and not finding anything. Nothing was even popping up and telling me I had a Trojan in my system. I had been getting one of those about:blank's periodically while on the web. I couldn't track it down no matter what I did. Well, I saw somewhere on this forum advice being given to run a program called housecall. I went to the site ran it and it found 2 Trojans. Both where called Trojan.small.something else. Since I got rid of those 2 Trojans I have not gotten 1 about:blank. I just wanted to share this with everyone who has not ran housecall. My little piece of advice. Hope this helps someone who has never tried Housecall. It works. The address follows. Thanks Mark

Most antivirus software will only detect a small percentage of trojans, since their signatures and method of infection are different than viruses. Trend Micro's Housecall online service does a great job scanning for both.

Hopefully, you won't need them, but here are a couple of other online services which scan specifically for trojans.

Anti-Trojan.org
TrojanScan

yes, i had the same problem..couldnt change my home page no matter what..it would always be an "about: blank" page... and i kept getting redirected to porn sites and didnt know why...
housecall was great...it found 16 trojans on my system and the AVG found a few more...
i used to get alot of errors and now my system works fine...
i also downloaded this program called AntiCrash after seeing it recommended by a member of this site...
it also works great...it counters your system when it's about to crash or freeze.

Should've taken a darn class on this stuff... lol
