Help~Computer freezing

Hi my friend just recently did something to my laptop(opened something from an unknown person), and now the computer won't start. It freezes at the manufactuer logo screen(the screen on my laptop says a big Toshiba on it), and i dont know what to do. I cant get into safemode bios anything ;( anyhelp to at least get it started?

What happens when you try to get into the BIOS? - it should be the ESC key or F1 during boot (depending on which model you have) you can then turn off the logo screen & see where the system's halting.

Unplug and take the battry out for a couple mins. Then plug it back in and try again.
