Can you help me to get rid of it ? I have no virus protection yet *waiting on Norton 2002 Pro* ... what can I do ? What does the Tojan do ?

There are certain things that you can do to protect yourself.
1) update you antivirus software and run a full scan of your system.
if you do not have a antivirus program... go to http://www.grisoft.com/html/us_index.htm and download this very good free anti virus program.

2) use a software firewall... if you don't have one.. download the free version of zonealarm from:
http://www.zonelabs.com/

this will prevent anyone from accessing your computer.

3) go to http://www.majorgeek.com/index2.html and download their free program called ad-aware 5.71.
this will remove any spy-ware that is on your systm.

4) go to: http://www.finjan.com/

So how exactly do i erase this stupid virus???

How do I get rid of this virus? It has infected my computer for about a week now and I am tired of seeing "YOUR COMPUTER IS INFECTED". I have Norton Anti-Virus 2002 but I do not have the updated version of Norton though. PLEASE HELP!!

this is stupid! i can't even delete these files! im working under it right now, please gimme some tips...?

Look at the previous posts for REMOVING THE TROJAN!!! they are some good programs especially the one posted by DW... the file is called Swatit... so download it!!!

the only way I removed it was this

1. Create a new user (peferebly an Admin account)
2. Login as this new user
3. go into the folder where ur IE Cache is stored (see A) if you don't know where it is
4. now you should be able to delete it

A. If u don't know, go into 'Internet Options' in ur Control Panel. Then under the temporary Internet files hit Settings to find where the folder is. Do this before logging in as the new account

my question is how does one get such a virus... seems it renders the partition useless
