Reply: (edit)When I ran this I did not have ad-aware. I downloaded it last night but was receiving the message BEFORE I had ad aware so it never directed me to that folder. Reply: (edit)Here's how I took care of it: I had quarantined a virus w/AVG 6 (free), but it still found a problem w/ a file called counter.class when I ran Ad-Aware. I watched the location that Ad-Aware was scanning when the AVG virus shield notice popped up, then used selective scan to narrow it down. (I only use free editions, and it goes by very fast!) Once I found the directory, I selected View,Details: Date Created. Four Java files were created at the time of the infection. I deleted all four. (The detected"counter.class" file was only visible when a zipped file was decompressed. Ad-Aware decompresses items in its cache as it scans, making the virus visible.) Here's the directory in which java/byteverify lurked on my machine: C:\Documents and Settings\username)\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javapi\v1.0\jar 'Hope this helps. - Larissa Simone

Reply: (edit)BTW, in case any real non-techies read this, where I wrote "\username)", forgetting the "(", that will actually be the name you gave the operating system for yourself when it was first installed.
