I posted 10 hours ago another thread but got no help and now the computers get worse by the minute I fear if no one helps it will be over. I read a thread that someone here had similar problem but the guy helping him asked that we (cause obviously im not the only one) started a new thread)..Here goes this past week I had many problems. the computer wouldnt start at all. That got partially fixed. Then it would start but not all the way to my login(3 persons uses this computer)...i would have to shut and restarted manually until it worked all the way. It seems to be partially solved BUT someone told me to go in MSDOS and force a chkdisk at start up. IT NEVER DOES IT alwyas give me an error message that flashes for a few seconds EVERYTIME WE OPEN THE COMPUTER!!! the message is saying that this computer is raw files and autocheck cannot run raw files so it ends it. Somethign along those lines at leasts. Thats not fix. FIannly somoene told me that it wasa virus or trojan that did that and sent me the link to here but no one has helped me so far and the ocmputer jsut keeps on frozing...slowing down and got to shut it manually. I can t upgrade my antivirus or get new ones. I can surf the internet BUT cannot reach any antivirus website or several help site or even support microsoft websites. This virus blocks those websites but internet works ON AND OFF. which is why time is of the essence. Links sent to me wont work. a friend sent me SDFIX and i installed it like I read in a previous post that had similar problem. I wanted at least to run it but the guy mentionned open it in safe mode ( i can only do so by msconfig and not via taping f8) and to open it and type Y and let it go...there is no Y option...but i typed it nevertheless and nothing happened. I dont know what to do now anyone can help??? itsthe first time in 4 hours i managedto get the computer working..so fast help is required I dunno how long the internet will last, HELP! Newbie ARG!
