was trying out Sharaza for a bit, and I think I must of caught something dirty from it because my outlook express sent out an email that I never sent to my hotmail email address which was in my contact list, and possibly a bunch of others. I have since delted sharaza completly and also from registry. The subject line from the email I apparently sent, but never did was "Emailing: safe.jpg" there was no body, except for a grey blob. Hotmail din't detect any virus on the attachment but I din't download it. One of my pal's said he got an email from me too, but I don't know much about the one he recieved. I am pretty sure my PC has been compromised and I have tried a number of things,

Scanned my PC with Spybot + Adaware 6 with latest updates.
Usingn Norton antivirus 2004 pro with all latest updates and virus data is installed, done a full scan but came out clean, and I also have latest version of Zone alarm pro.
And I have scanned using Housecall and Mcaffes, both say I am clean.

Norton antivirus 2004 Pro really sucks, it seems to of been defeated completely by whatever this may be, buy someone elses virus protection from now on...

What can I do to nail this virus?

Thanks

that answer is simple get another virus scanner or try another one....and why not get the best....try nod32.....if it says your clean well thats just what u are so heres the download site ...try the 30day trail if it finds something norton didnt i would throw out norton.

http://www.nod32.com/download/trial.htm

once u download it follow these instructions to max your protection u going to love it.

1. Make sure no other antivirus software is installed period, once nod32 is install u wont need
another one..this is the best after u run it once u will see why.

2. Once nod32 is install open it thru icon or desktop tray icon near computer time at bottom of
screen. You get control center and make sure all four tools are active..to activate click
setup....these 4 are very important..AMON DMON IMON NOD32...

3. Update it as soon as u can..if cant connect to internet. You will have to run it in safe mode to
remove infections..

4. Restart computer and press f8 until u get a black screen with menu choices, select safe mode

5. Log in under administrator and run nod32..u will see the nod32 icon on desktop open it....
Now click setup tab and checkmark deep,,,,,,,and advanced heuristic click extensions on bottom
and select all files. Now click actions tab and select quartine and delete.

6. Now u are really to run nod32 click scanning targets and click clean

7. Once all infections are cleaned restart computer and let it run in normal mode...now update
nod32 if u didnt and go back to step 4-6.

I have used Norton, McAfee and AVG and now have been using Avast! free home edition. It works great, it's free and also gives on-line up-dates as you surf and most of all doesn't bog down your PC.
Maybe you might want to try it....it's up to you

If you need a simple solution, try mine. I try to give advise on things that have happened to my PC. Changes in registry can be FATAL! Glad to have a chance to help you.
