Hey everyone. I am getting a bit irritated because all of my posts keep getting removed and I have no idea why. Many users are writing the same things I am, and their posts are not being removed. Anywho, I would like help regarding the spyware in my computer. A description of my latest problems are as follows:
-Downloaded game from Reflexive.com. In attempt to attain an activation code, I downloaded a program from google that claimed to be the code.
-Since the code download, I have been getting several security and porn pop-ups from Internet Explorer, I have also been getting a little yellow triangle popping up at the bottom of my screen alerting me to a virus. When I click the yellow triangle, it opens a website for security downloads.
- I have run several scans on my computer, including Ewido, McAfee, A-Squared, and Dr. Web- Cure It. All except McAfee have come up with results that they all claim to have cured. I have rebooted and the same problem is still occuring.
-I have since run HiJack This and come up with a log. If anyone can help me "translate" the log, I would appreciate it because I have no idea which programs to keep and which to leave alone.
-I noticed when I end the process "isnotify.exe" the pop ups have slowed down, but not stopped entirely. I also know this is only a temporary solution.
Please let me know if you can help me, I am going insane over these popups! This is my school computer and I leave to go back to school next week. I would rather this all be fixed before then. Thanks again!!

Thank you very much for replying!! Here is my log:

Post a new Hijack This log

Ok, I tried to go into safe mode... it allows me to log in but then the screen is completely black and it says safe mode at the bottom and top. I thought maybe it was loading, but I let it sit for 15 minutes with no result. I was still able to move the mouse, however. What should I do next? Can I run it without safe mode?

I'm not the webmaster but just for info, posts usually get removed because of some violation of the rules:
Forum RulesTypically:
Multiple posting the same question.
Hacking & cracking questions (codes etc).
Posting HJT log before being requested.DerekW

Go to start> run> type in "msconfig" select normal startup> apply> ok. Try safe mode now. If you still can not get into safe mode go thhrough the procedure in normal mode and post a new Hijack This log and silent runners log when you are fininhed.

Your problem is being dealt with by jabuck who requested the log - so all is OK now and there should be no problem continuing.
I was just suggesting possible reasons for the future, as you raised this issue in your initial post. Not sure how you missed the big warning but it's no longer an issue.
You are in good hands.
DerekW

Ooops, sorry Steging, I thought you were kmas....
You should always start your own thread because nobody can deal with two of these logs at once - gets far too confusing.
It's very simple, you post your problem (not the log), say you have an HJT log and "IF a helper suggests you submit it" then that's fine. The pop up screens says it all, so I find it hard to understand why folk have problems understanding this. There might be prove to be other ways forward without the log of-course....
DerekW

Sorry I haven't written back, I fell asleep! Ok I will try that and then post back in here that way my post doesnt get deleted! Thanks again!

Ok Here is my SmitRem Results, I will do the others now!!:

When this is all over and your machine is deemed clean, get HJT to put all the items on it's ignore list.
That way when you run it again at a later time you will see just the additions (good or bad), rather than wading through the full list.

Derek--
Ok, I will do that. This problem is driving me crazy, especially knowing I have to go back to school next week. I go out of state so it is much harder to get the computer fixed when I am away from home, not to mention much more costly. Thanks for your help!

Looks better.
Turn off or uninstall spysweeper please. You should be able to right click the systray icon and choose exit to turn it off, or similar option.
Can you run VundoFix again for me (slightlty different method), I just want to see the log it produces:
Please download Vundofix to your desktop.
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
Turn your computer back on.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txtThen post a new silentrunners log

Ok, I am doing that now. I am not quite sure what SpySweeper is.. I uninstalled Spyware Doctor, if that is what it was. It was in my tray so I hope that was correct. I will post the logs as soon as it is done running!

Here is the Vundo Log...
VundoFix V5.1.6

Go to start> control panel> display>desktop> customize desktop> web and remove everythig except "my current home page" unless you put it there. May not be anything there at all.
You have an older version of Java that spyware/malware can exploit. You need to get the newest version of Java installed on the computer, it can be downloaded from this link. http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp Once you get the new version installed go to start> control panel> add\remove programs and uninstall the old 1.4 version of java.
Are you running any better?

Ok I updated Java! And yes, since my last restart there has not been any more pop ups! I will give another update later on! Thank you so much for all of your help! I really appreciate it so much!! =)
