Comment: Hello you experts out there, i will be very much indebted to you for some advice and recommendations in solving my problem. Recently it was discovered that a trojan was downloaded on to my computer and its causing great problems to my pc,ie the changing of my home page, unusual pop ups that states" YOUR COMPUTER IS INFECTED CRITICAL SYSTEM ERROR.ANOTHER SAYING MALWARE THREAT AND YOUR COMPUTER IS INFECTED WITH A BACKDOOR TROJAN" I WILL APPRECIATE IT IF YOU CAN GIVE ME SOME ADIVSE AND HELP ON WHAT TO DO AND HOW TO RESTORE MY COMPUTER IN PREFECT WORKING ORDER AND AND HOW CAN I REMOVE THESE PESTS. Reply: (edit)Don't necessarily believe the texts of those messages. They are more likely malware that is trying to get you to buy their fixes. There's probably not a trojan at all, it is the malware that you need to remove. Even the freebie "Ad-Aware" might do the trick. In the long term you need some malware/spyware finders on your machine (anti-virus programs don't always look for these). Get recommendations here for some freebies because there are bogus ones around that actually put spyware on your machine - for money. Try to avoid "Please help" as the subject line (that applies to every post). Give some clue instead, even "Suspected Trojan" would have been better. When you post your question this is mentioned. Avoid caps too. Thx DerekW
