I need some help. I have 2 computers running Windows 2000. One has constant freeze ups whenever I try to scan it for viruses, while the other has only one problem, where the task manager does not appear as it should. It lacks the cpu usage part of it, showing only the processes/applications. Help? =/

Hello Ryu,
Too much problems all together...
I will not hesitate one second to reinstall both of them with a brand new window clean and cool !!!!

ryu
try an online scan at housecall anti virus.
d/l ad-ware free at www.download.com
and run it toremove spy ware.
for more concice computer read outs try d/ling sisoftsandra,s free verion.
and try posting in 2000 forum.IMP please do not post format first as a responce to minor problems.

Thanks. That will fix one of their problems at least, but how to fix the task manager on my other computer? Its stability is fine... but I just found 120 traces of Nimda virus and 5 of some Trojan, both gone now... But those were tereminated before I posted.

hello
did you write down what files were damaged?
in witch case you can copy good files from one computer to the other and get it working.

No files were damaged. The nimda virus appeared as e-mail message files mostly, with infected attachments. Nimda is just an annoying virus... The trojan has not seemed to affect much... It placed a Shell32.exe in c:/winnt/system32/ and some infect .dlls as well... My system works fine without these. BTW this is the system with the task manager only partially appearing, the cpu usage part is unaccessable still... Help?
