Hello all,
I have similar question to Mazlan but I am using Windows XP Home Edition version 2002 SP3.
My CA anti virus quarantined two files (svchost.exe and A0082314.exe) that have been infected with Win32/AMalum.AFJG
Appreciate any help on how to remove as this virus does not allow my computer to access the internet at all. I am asking this question from another computer obviously.

There is no AMalum virus. This is a known false positive result from CA Antivirus which they should fix on the next update.

You might be able to fix your computer by getting the files out of quarantine, or else you need to do a repair with the Windows Installation disc.

I recommend if you are looking for an effective Internet Security or Antivirus program from one of the major providers. There are reviews, comparisons and links for the latest software from the main antivirus companies. I personally recommend Kaspersky Internet Security or ESET NOD32.

I guess you are correct because I no longer have the problem. Is it safe to assume that CA provided me with the fix and it worked? I still see those two files in the quarntined area of CA anti virus but I can live with that as long as things work normally like they are right now.

Thanks for the advice on the other Anti virus products. I really don't like these CA products but I use them because they came free from Optimum Online my internet service provider. I used to pay $35 a year for McCaffee but ended that. I guess you get what you pay for.

Thanks again!
