Comment: Hi, i am currently infested with spyware. It wont allow me to open my windows task manager, as well as many other things. When i log into AIM an away msg pops up telling me to go to http://www.angelfire.com/ego2/friends1/bestfriends.scr I need serious help, ive tried Spybot,adaware,CWShredder,Virus Scan Online. It hasnt gotten rid of the problem. Plz help me.

Reply: (edit)Did you turn off system restore before running the programs? Did you make sure you had all the latest updates for those programs?

Reply: (edit)Alan, I spent 30" going through your file and searching for information. I would appreciate it if you could give me an idea of what happened when you applied the suggestions I gave. Also, did you try to fix:
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [AIM] C:\Program Files\AIM\aim.exe -cnetwait.odl that I mentioned? If so, what happened? Evidently this is a new spyware, and it is going to show up again. The information here may well help a lot of people.
