✔ Best Answer

Hi,

Please reboot and tap "F8", then select "Safe Mode with Networking", from there, download and run the Norton Blaster Worm Removal Tool: http://www.symantec.com/security_re...

If this does not, work, Download Rkill from here: http://download.bleepingcomputer.co... run it, then try again. (Note: Do not reboot once Rkill is run, as this will cause the malicious process to respawn).

I would also download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and run a scan: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Please post a log after running Malwarebytes.

Let me know if this helps you, please.

Totally worked, thank you! (it calls itself W32.blaster.worm but it is just crappy malicious malware that infected 35 registry lines....caused zero .exe. files to be allowed to work, so no task manager, no anti virus, no removal, no anything).........your solution of safe mode w/ networking, download Rkiller, download malware anti stuff worked.....yeah!!!

THANK YOU for your wonderul advice!!

I had read at a different site to put the fix blast on a flash drive and then plug it in and run it on my infected computer, but all it did was infect the fix blast when I plugged it into the infected computer.

So I found your advice and it worked great!! I put it in safe mode and then downloaded the fix blast and ran it. I then downloaded the Malware and ran the scan. I restarted the computer and it works great!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Are the w32 blaster removal directions the same for Windows 7? I clicked on the norton removal tool link that you posted and it says it's only good for windows XP and 2000
