Hello,
I need help identifying a virus. I see a folder on the root of the C drive called
C:\e056a5f39a982a9260\sp2. I cannot delete this folder and I get an access denied. I even tried deleting it from recovery console with no luck. The user complains that his enter and return keys stop working periodically. I have a suspicion it has something to do with this folder. Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks for your help,
Andy

sounds like files windows saved with a service pack update

http://www.distrowatch.com
find the knoppix link
download
burn the iso image (dont copy to cd burn as image)

place floppy in problematic cd rom

reboot system

boot off of cdrom (bios option to do so must be enabled)

wait few minutes

knoppix desktop appears (linux desktop)

all hard drives should have been automounted to desktop

right click hda1 (your c drive (hard drive a partition 1)

under properties change to full access (unchek read only and add all privaleges)

open drive

delete folder

since its not a copy of windows trying to acces the folder permisions should not be an issue

if the gui (the desktop fronted) has an issue open a terminal (same as a command prompt) and go to folder

type man rm

this will load the manual for the rm command (rm stands for remove)

use appropriate force and recursive options to remove folder
