Totally absolutely at my wits end. Norton Anti virus keeps popping up telling me I have this virus and the object name is C:/windows/system32/ilorux[^.dll. Norton can find it but can't delete, repair etc. I have followed the directions on Symantec's website and that was a no-go. Also, have scanned this forum for the same problem and tried the suggestions but that has not helped either. I have tried Ad-Aware, Spybot and everything else you can imagine. I cannot do system restore because I have too much info. I can find the file but it won't let me delete. PLEASE HELP!!

Is the file listed as "in use' when NAV identifies it, but you cannot access it to clean, repair or delete it? Have you turned system restore off, restarted the computer and entered the safe mode and used NAV to scan for the trojan while in the sfae mode?

C:/windows/system32/ilorux[^.dll

this file starts up with windows so therefore its access denies because its in windows system32 file folder.....its not in the system volume restore files so theres no need to disable system restore...however if going to safe mode might get rid of this file and it might not..run nav in safe mode and if it cant delete this file u have 2 things u can do

1. either rename the file to something like..
C:/windows/system32/ilorux[^.dll.txt

2. manually delete the file yourself...either by going in windows/system32 directory or click on file search and type that file in.....make sure u know the exact file name.

worse case is that u cant delete it in normal windows or safe mode...but that is rare cases in which u have to go into safe mode with command prompt and use old dos commands like del...cd and some others..but try the steps above first...

if u still have that file just repost again the steps u have taken.

goodday
