Comment: Just last week my computer suddenly began booting up very slow and all programs are slow to start up. i've ran several anti-virus programs and regcure to no avail. i have also experienced two blue error pages with the following info: KERNAL_STACK_IMAGE_ERROR and PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. At bottom of latter error said stop 0X00000050 partmgr.sys address F87BF4AB. there is also a strange clicking noise(like when a constant power supply kicks on/off)that periodically happens from once or twice too a continuous stream for 15 seconds. i have the HJT log will post if desired

Reply: (edit)The blue screen errors are quite possibly associated with a hardware problem with memory being my first guess but with your mention of noise, it could be a bad power supply or hard drive. When you turn on your pc and before the Windows XP screen starts, hold down the F8 key for the startup menu. Select safe mode and see if the system acts erratic with loading Windows and programs. Have you installed any hardware or software before this problem showed up?
