Hi... here`s my thing... i was wondering the net, making some downloads, and then blue messages started to appear full screen : "error writing to drive c:" and "error reading from drive d:", {drive c and d are both from same hard drive, a fujitsu mpg3204at, 20G}.

I ran scandisk, and he says he found a error with the Fat32, and that copy 2 was better than copy 1, and that he woukd make the change, and fix it... But it ended with the message:"scandisk couldn`t fix the error"...

I then shut down the pc, took off the damaged hdd, and assembled the pc with my brothers hdd { a western Digital, 2G }as Master on Idle 1, and a Cd/rom as slave, and the Damaged hard drive as master on Idle 2, with a cd burner as slave... I started and its all recognized except the damaged drive...

I then started doing some diagnostic tools, and i found a virus on the boot sector {worm something }, i`ve cleaned it... and then i flashed the bios { a awardBios v4.51 from 09/07/2000 with chipset Via Apollo Plus, and Jetway Motherboard 993as/993an }. Later i found a virus on a download, before the atack {Hll.Sub.7754} .Everything`s fine now except the fact that it can`t recognize the damaged hdd...

i used all kind of Fujitsu diagnostic tools, but they all say that they can`t find any Fujitsu hard drives.

I also can`t remember the CHS my cmos/bios used to use for the fujitsu drive, cause the settings from the manufacter c:16383, h:16, s:63 dont work... also the auto hdd detection dont find it...

can someone help me on this... all my arquitecture college work are on that drive, but if can`t access it from anywhere, how can i clean the virus that should be on it, fix the FAT32 thing {probably made by the virus}, and recover at least that important data??

P.S. A guy that talked to me on the Net said that he had the same problem i did, and that in the end, he used the Seagate diagnostic tool that fixed a Rom Sector {i think} and the drive started working just fine.

please help,
thanks in advance..

Looks like the most important thing you need to do at this point is recover your data, but with a known virus issue on the drive, be sure to have an up to date A-V scanner working while doing so. Here's a tool that should be of much help to you.

Drive Rescue by Alexander Grau

FreeWare

" What Drive Rescue can do for you:

Find any lost and deleted data on your hard disk even if the partition table is lost!
Discover important file system tables of your hard disk, including paritition table, boot record, FAT and file/directory records.

What Drive Rescue can NOT do for you:

Find any data on a physically damaged hard disk! "
