hey all,
i recently noticed that when i'm typing a search in the search bar, some of the things it came up with as previous searches, had not been done by me (trust me i could tell). also my history shows plenty of websites also not visited by me. i am sure i am the only person with access to my computer.
do you think i have been hacked?

Hi....i'm no computer expert but it sounds like you have got spyware/adware on your system....try programmes like spybot, AD-Aware SE, etc...

thanks, i already have all those programs and ran them all only to find nothing. However, i did just install zone alarm and it has blocked 6 access attempts already and it's only been about a half hour........
what does that say to you?
i'm a bit illiterate when it comes to this side of computers, i don't understand exactly what's involved in hacking or why someone might do it to my computer, any help there would be much appreciated also.

Don't worry about what your firewall blocks, it is just doing its stuff and is quite normal. Your log will grow like wildfire. Mostly they are harmless Pings.

with your antivirus software do you know if it detected Black Orfice B? That is a backdoor program allowing someone into your computer and can "steal information from you with out your knowledge!" While there looking into your system the computer is actually going to varies sites distracting you, And yes even with your firewall on if its in your computer your firewall could be disabled from that backdoor Still allowing acces to your comp.
