I am interested in looking into a hardware firewall to add to my protection. I admit this is an area I have no clue about. I have a cable connection with Comcast, which is like Road Runner. Ive heard on these forums about Linksys BEFSX41, um is it any good, what do I need to do to get a HWfirewall, or what do I need to look for? I need all info regarding this, I am in uncharted waters with this!
For compatibility issues, I have Zone Alarm Suite, Spybot, and currently entertaining the idea of adding another AV to the mix, like AVG, avast, or Norton.
You can never have enough protection eh?

Hi autonomatrix
It's advisable to never run 2 Antivirus or firewall programs on a single pc as this can cause system instability.
You can do a port scan here to test your firewall:

Aside from your firewall and AV you can have any number of spyware scanners such as Spybot, Adaware, SUPERAntispyware....
And a cleaning program such as ccleaner.
The best way to keep your pc secure is to make sure you keep all apps updated and do scheduled scanning and cleaning.

2 firewalls on 1 computer? Absolutely!!!
They call them ROUTERS, best dam firewall money can buy!
If you are highly security conscious, either avoid wireless or study and understand as a wireless router without proper security is the same as opening your PC up to the world!
