anyone know a godd harware firewall and is it essential to have in your computer i have sygate firewall seem to work well any sugestions on a hardware firewall???

Not considered essential by many people, but recommended by others. Lynksys, DLink, Adaptec and some other companies all have them for a reasonable price. The article at PV Magazine's website about keeping hackers out will provide you with some more information. Take care and all the best!

hi ratas, for more info on routers go to www.thepublicworks.com security section and link to pratically networked, firewall guide, and speed guide. although there not essential for computing with one computer they may be essential for overall security in some cases joined together with a good free firewall in a networked situation. many people use routers as a hardware firewall together with a firewall in a one computer setup. all the best, murve
