There is this guy that has been figuring out exactly where I am just by looking at the IM messages that I send him through AIM. How is he doing this? It is kinda scaring me. Is there any way to prevent this?

Stop sending him messages?

Science is built up with facts, as a house is with stones. But a collection of facts is not more a science than a heap of stones is a home

find and block that ip address,
or complain to server,
change messanger and /or username,
check settings in messanger for blocking user,
talk to friends for personal input/help...

There are several sites that can give your e-mail and name and a lot of stuff just from your e-mail address. That's really just the tip of the iceburg!

Do you mean where you are physically? What type of email address are you using? Are you sending him any files? Do you perhaps have your profile information as such that it actually shows valid information? There are many ways someone can track you down. Perhaps you can supply a little more information as to what's going on, and what you would like to accomplish.

Hi jodilin2005

Have a look at DNS Stuff it gives you an idea just what is available to those that know.

If any advice helps, please post back as it might help others.

Sorry Jennifer since I haven't logged on. Just been super busy. To answer your question if I am at a panera bread he can tell me that. If I am at my house he can tell me that too. I use hotmail but he also tracks it through AIM too. I don't send him files. And I don't know about the information.

sounds more like someone that knows you personally and knows your physical address...
in reference to the above posted link for DNS Stuff.. I tried to find info on my own IP address and didn't even get any indication to what State I am in....
