Hi

I installed grokster today, and it also installed about 50,000 casinos and all manor of spyware and crap, that are seriously killing my computer.

I have tried removing it, but there just always seems to be the odd little thing popping up here and there, pissing me off and using up all my resources.

If anyone knows a good way to clear it all please let me know. (Unfortunately i didn't use system restore prior to install).

Thanks

Download 'Hijack This!'. Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, click "Save Log", and copy and paste it in a reply.

Why not use Kazaa lite? It has NO spyware.

Don't install any other file share prog 'till you get this sorted. Go with rayman and get Spybot. Only when you are clean should you read up on, and think about installing file share progs.

kazaalite is spyware free.

I use grokster but i made sure not to allow gator and stuff to install, i also use adware, cookiewall and pop up stopper which stops the nuisance ads, I had to use pop up stopper anyway. The tthing i find is when using Grokster my procresser usage is usually at 99% to 100% prolly cos i have norton set to scan incoming and outgoing. Worth it for the pece of mind it gives.

spy?adware/malware is a pain in the butt, I dont mind a little windo in the client application such as in icq and grokster as it usues minimal bandwidth, but i strenuously object to pop ups over which i have no control without 3rd party software. It`s all Microsoftsault too with active-x etc and my security settings are pretty tight, to the point they annoy me, and i`m consideruing ditching i explorer and moving to nutscrape or something else hat dpoenst have the same holes.

Sorry for the rant but its really beginning to annoy me the way some companies abuse peoples good will and trust in them
