Jean Paul.Cache Speed is a shareware program that is supposed to boost your pc's speed. It requires that your start page be reset. That's not cool!Neither is the fact that it is adware!(www.pcworld.com)How did that get in an AVG download?I suggest that you download Spybot.I gave the address and some tips in the "ero finder" post that's a few lines below your post.Capt gave some great advice in that post also!.Both programs can reside on the same pc.Where did you download this from?I don't think that grisoft(AVG's makers) would bundle this in a download of their av program.Stay safe.JB

I am not quite sure what your problem is. If you have the license key and AVG is not installed, you can get it at the Grisoft website or the cnet downloads website, the license key is a general key, not a specfic download one. If it was installed and has disappeared, but it still should be listed in the control panel of add/remove programs. You should run an on-line antivirus scan from Symantec, Macafee, Trend Micro or Panda as there are several virus packets that attack and disable antivirus and firewall programs if it is not accessible to you. Take care and all the best!

I did download from Grisoft I have un-installed cachespeed and actually erased the folder it created in the Program files using ERASER just to make sure. I also deleted the download twice so far.I go back to Grisoft and re-download and get the same results. I have done two complete scans of my computer for viruses once with Norton and once with Trend Micro on-line virus scan and not a thing shows off. I even deleted the cooky it placed in the cooky folder. I have no more traces of this program on the computer. and yet I still get this from Grisoft.....
Perplexed

JP, Get Spybot and Ad-aware(free) at the Wilders.Org website, be sure to get the latest updates for each one. Scan for any spyware, and get things the way you want them. Then get the AVG download from the cnet download website. I just cannot believe that Grisoft would have anything like this at their website. The only problem I have heard about was they can get overloaded, but never any other file/program being included in the AVG download. I know I have had Gator and other crud use their pop-ups at websites that I visit, try to get me to accept them. I know if you make a mistake and accept them, the fun begins. Perhaps this is what happened, and poor Grisoft gets the blame due their being your first download after it locked onto you. Take care!

Well !!!!
I did all of the above, sypbot ad-aware, virus checks , re-downloaded from PC World and got the same result I find no spybots and the spyware is all accounted for by programs I am aware of. If any of you have this AVG 6.0 on your disk, please burn it and send it to me. Let see if it can override a CD.
Totally baffled!!!!

I found a reported download problem with AVG trying to use another program. That program was listed in the download area that was to store all his downloads. The person deleted that file and then successfully installed AVG. It was already in the file area that was used to store downloads, and was not part of the AVG download.
