I got FakeAlert-XPSecCenter. I was able to remove it, but have collateral damage. IE7 opens and immediately crashes. Task Mngr won't open. Tried to install Mozilla and it installed but again immediately crashes when I try to run it. Really frustrated, this is making my laptop essentially useless - have to use my girlfriend's computer for any internet access. Advice appreciated!

That I know of, there are not any viruses for mac applications. I would download Safari and install it.

allso go to run type msconfig the to startup see if any unusual are running if you have been downloading stuff stop it from running
