It seems that I was infected with the WORM YAHA.K virus.. so, I followed steps to rid it (http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=WORM_YAHA.K ... and then did the housecall scan to delete the infected files).. it got rid of the virus but I am no longer able to access my MSN messenger, my Yahoo Page, my AIM, even my windows explorer... I get an error message.. "windows cannot find c:\... " Pleaseeee help me..

thanks much =o)

Cesar.. Ooh I'm glad it worked 4 u!.. but, actually, like I mentioned before.. I got rid of the virus already.. it's just that now.. my computer isn't working the same.. it wont let me log on to MSN, AIM, YAHOO, windows explorer.. etc.. I just don't want to have to resort to reformating my hard drive... was hopeing there was another option..

If you have windows 98 you can do a scanreg /restore back to before the virus, and win ME, XP etc, you can use system restore to go back to before you had the virus. Good Luck :-)Cat

hey Nadine here is a possible solution for you .... if booting of the cd and repairing ME didn't work try this.... go to a system that has ME and you know is not infected by the worm. you need to find these three files and copy them and then install them on to the computer that got eaten by the worm :P i hope this works... if not then :( :( :( you have to format the computer. and this time make a recovery disk. here are the three files...

WinServices.exe
nav32_loader.exe
tcpsvs32.exe

if u need more info on what the virus does ... go here
http://www3.ca.com/virusinfo/
and for your friend have them try

to the word... we didn't maybe that's why we get mess up :P

Your .exe file association has been changed by the virus. Go here and download and run exefix08.com.

Hi mim, Yaha.K and Yaha.M are the same virus.
Run either of the following removal tools, Both have been updated to remove this version of Yaha.

Solo Antivirus worked for me. You should not delete the worm files before fixing the registry entries. For details and fix visit http://www.srnmicro.com/virusinfo/yaha_k.htm

Best of luck

Don't go trying to remove the virus manually.. you will do more damage than good! Get the YahaRemover. It is the best. All others (including McAfee and Symantec tools)did not work for me since the virus had disabled exe file execution on my computer. YahaRemover works brilliantly!
