I had an annoying google redirect problem - redirecting to stopzilla, ebay, youtube etc on windows vista. I ran some anti virus and spyware scans (norton, adaware, S&D, malwarebytes etc) but couldn't find anything.
I upgraded to windows 7 ultimate full retail version downloaded from microsoft MSDN, but the virus remained.
I performed a new, clean install of windows 7, but the virus remained. i thought perhaps it was lurking somewhere in the boot partition.
I put the windows 7 install on a flash drive, clicked on repair and formatted the C: drive from the DOS prompt and installed 7 on a clean, formatted partition, but the virus remains.
It is not a dodgy version of 7. I downloaded it from MSDN. The only thing I can think of now is that something happened when i extracted and burnt the .iso. i used magiciso to burn the disc and to image the flash drive.
has anyone heard of this happening before? I don't mind reinstalling Windows 7, but what else can I do to avoid the virus this time?

You may have a boot virus. See if this page helps you:

Try factory resetting your router.
Usually you would depress the pinhole button in the back for 30 seconds then disconnecting the power for a few minutes.
Power up the router with a fresh OS.
Don't connect any external drives until you know if you are clear.
