Specs: Windows XP
I believe that I have a redirect virus. Every time I use google, it brings up the search results normally, but when I click on a link it takes me to another search engine result - like Scour. I have read and read and read articles telling me what to do - but I feel like I am going to get conned in to buying a program or software that might not really solve the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Combofix is normally the program I run for symptoms like yours. Unfortunately it will not run on 64bit systems. But I found another one that will check for TDSS infections which is what yours appears to be..

Please download the TDSS Rootkit Removing Tool ( and save it to your Desktop.

I have the redirect virus and I tried the TDSSKiller utility but it found no infections. Any other suggestions.

1) Please disable Javascript in the browser your using.
2) Run TDSSkiller. You have the download.
3) Download Malwarebytes, update and run a full scan in safe mode.
4) Download HitmanPro 3.5 free 30day trial, and run a full scan.(Unless you have 32bit)?
5) Download ESET Online Scanner, run a full scan.
6) Enable Javascript again and check your browser for redirecting?
7) If all good? disable your System Restore to clear it of infections, then enable it.
Let me know how you get on, you should be virus free now.
