Which web browser does it happen in? Does it happen in other web browsers aswell? What site are you redirected too?

I use mainly firefox, but it happens on both IE and firefox. I get redirected to a bunch of different sites like abracat.com . I noticed that when I highlight links with my mouse, the very bottom of my browser (the part that usually says "Done" after loading a page) will have "google-redirect.com" followed by aa lot of gibberish. Also, my browsers will randomly function normally from time to time.

Download and run Kaspersky AVP tool: http://devbuilds.kaspersky-labs.com...
Once you download and start the tool:

# Check below options:

    * Select all the objects/places to be scanned.
    * Settings > Customize > Heuristic analyzer > Enable deep rootkit search

# Click Scan
# Fix what it detects
# Attach Scan log/Summary to your next message.

ok thanks, it's scanning right now. Is it safe/ok to be working on the internet while the AV is scanning? The estimated finish time is so long and I have some things I was hoping I could do. It's not a problem if I shouldn't use any browsers though.

Thank you for your help!

I've scanned and fixed, but I'm not sure how to create a summary from the Kaspersky AV program. Unless you mean the "Report" but that's 36mb of text which seems mostly unnecessary. Is there something I'm not understanding?

oh, also, I dont know if this has anything to do with my problem, but every time I load up my computer or go to "My Computer" or "My Documents" I get an error about svchost.exe is that a problem? It says "The instruction at "0x00bb8569" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "written".

This is the new HJT log after running Kaspersky. I'm hoping this is what you meant!

1) Can you please post your AVZ log:
Note: Run AVZ in windows normal mode. If avz.exe doesn't start, then try to rename the file avz.exe to something else and try to run it again. Make sure you have your web browser open in background before following the steps below.

i) To create the logfile, download AVZ by clicking HERE. Please save this file to your desktop or "My Documents" folder.

ii) Next, unpack the file to a new folder using the Compressed (zipped) folders wizard built into Windows XP/Vista, or a zip utility of your choice.

iii) Once you have unpacked the contents of the zip archive, please launch the file AVZ.exe by double clicking on it or right clicking and selecting Open.
Note: If you are running Windows vista launch AVZ.exe by right clicking and selecting Run as Administrator.

You should now see the main window of the AVZ utility. Please navigate to File->Custom Scripts. Copy the script below by using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+C or the corresponding option via right click.

begin
ExecuteStdScr(3);
RebootWindows(true);
end.

Paste the script into the execution window by using CTRL+V keyboard shortcut, or the "paste" option via the right click menu. Click on Run to run the script, the PC will reboot. After the reboot the LOG subfolder is created in the folder with AVZ, with a file called virusinfo_syscure.zip inside. Upload that file to rapidshare.com and paste the link here.

2) Can you also make a new HijackThis log and upload it to rapidshare.com. HijackThis: Here

Your log seems clean except Viewpointmanager:

Viewpoint Media Player is a web browser plug-in that enables users to view 3D content and other media. It is bundled with AOL, AIM, versions of Netscape, certain Adobe products and sometimes not mentioned in the license agreement. Viewpoint is also bundled with Adobe Atmosphere and hardware manufacturers pre-install some of these applications.

Viewpoint Manager is used by various products of Viewpoint Corporation and is responsible for managing and updating Viewpoint Media Player’s components. Viewpoint Manager will access the internet and check for updates periodically. If it detects an update, it will automatically download and install the change. You can disable this using the Viewpoint Manager Control Panel found in the Windows Control Panel menu. By selecting "Disable auto-updating for the Viewpoint Manager" -- the player will no longer attempt to check for updates. Although, Viewpoint is not technically malware it is considered to be foistware since it is often installed without a user's knowledge or approval.

If you want to remove it, please follow the following steps:

Go to Start > Run and copy/paste or type: taskmgr
Under the Processes tab find the following tasks or processes:
ViewpointService.exe
ViewMgr.exe
Highlight and click "End Process".
Exit Task Manager.

Click on Start > Run and type: services.msc
Press "OK".
Click the "Extended tab".
Scroll down the list and find the service called "Viewpoint Manager Service"
When you find the service, double-click on it.
In the Properties Window > General Tab that opens, click the "Stop" button.
From the drop-down menu next to "Startup Type", click on "Disabled".
Now click "Apply", then "OK" and close any open windows.

Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > highlight and remove all references to Viewpoint - i.e. Viewpoint, Viewpoint Manager, Viewpoint Media Player.

Finally, delete the following folders if they still exist:
C:\Program Files\ViewManager\ <-- and delete this folder
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\ <-- and delete this folder
