I just bought a new computer and it has worked great for me until recently. :(
It seems I have the google redirect virus, and have tried to remove it with steps provided for other people on this forum, but with no luck. I have run CCleaner and malwarebytes' anti-malware and the issue hasn't been resolved.
I don't know what to do!Also, I am sometimes receiving the "Windows has recovered from a serious error" pop-up after booting my pc, and it is usually followed by the "________ has encountered a problem and needs to close" pop-up for more than one program.
It's driving me crazy! Unfortunately, I don't have the XP discs to flatten the pc.
Are there any ways around these issues? Please help!

Download and run Kaspersky AVP tool: http://devbuilds.kaspersky-labs.com...
Once you download and start the tool:# Check below options: * Select all the objects/places to be scanned. * Settings > Customize > Heuristic analyzer > Enable deep rootkit search # Click Scan # Fix what it detects # Attach Scan log/Summary to your next message.Illustrated tutorial: http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/76...
If I'm helping you and I don't reply within 24 hours send me a PM.

1. Restart the computer. If you are already in Windows, you can do this from the Windows Start menu, go to Turn off computer and click Restart.2. As the computer restarts, watch for a progress bar at the bottom of the screen. press F8 about once every second.
3. Immediately press F8 before the progress bar reaches the right side of the screen.
4. From the Windows Start-up menu, highlight Safe Mode and press Enter.
5. Wait for your desktop to appear, and then run a full antispyware scanner from here http://www.pcthreat.com/parasitebyi...
6. When the repairs are done, restart the computer, and allow it to boot normally
