Comment: Hey guys I haven't installed GDS but today I found that it had magically appeared on my computer and was indexing my files! I am thinking it's a virus and now someone knows about 60% of the fies I have on my comp because when I canceled the indexing it was up to about 60%... Do you guys reckon it's a virus and that some guy now knows what's on my comp or is there any way to find out if it is the legit program? Thanks for any help.

Reply: (edit)O it is gds. You will find that some programs come bundled with it as an optional component that installs unless you tell it to, so if your the type that just clicks next, this is not serprising. Applications that come to mind that do this include the java runtime ... there are others. I would keep it tbh. If you don't do much while its indexing then it can be quite usefull but it is a bit of a bugger on the resource front so with your spec you'll have to see if the performance drop is a good enough traid off for the programs features. BEN.
