I was told by a friend that if you get a proxy server then it is impossible to be traced on the internet. Because of the stuff I do on the internet (ie. buisness stuff, credit card stuff, stock stuff) I wanted to get one. Upon searching the internet I found one that said it was $150 a year.
Does anyone know of a good proxy server for a decent price?
Thanks

Trusting a good proxy is like trusting your bank with your money. They "might" do a good job and then again they "might" not.
A proxy is nice but if you don't know the folks first hand you are still taking a serious risk.

thanks for the advice, but I know more or less there risky things to get which is why Im asking all the people out there in computer land which one is infact a good one to have.

A proxy will do nothing to protect you from the things you think it will.
A proxy is a computer through which data transferred between your computer and a third party computer is passed. So, by using a proxy, you are implicitly trusting it at least as much as you trust the third party computer. The question you should really be asking is, do you trust your proxy as much as you trust your bank? Or your stock broker? Or your credit card company? Because you are entrusting the proxy with all the information you receive from or send to those entities.
What exactly do you think it means to be "traced on the internet"? If you're concerned about the companies you do financial transactions with knowing your IP address, why are you giving them your money?
