I know winXP comes with a firewall, but I dont think much of it, does anyone know where i can download a decent free firewall?

There are many free Linux firewalls. Take
a look out on google. I personally prefer
Astaro, but IPCop gets good ratings too.
I've also used Smoothwall and one of the
floppy firewalls, but you need a separate
machine to run them on.

Sygate, Kerio, Agnitum's Outpost and Zone Alarm would be my suggestions. All are very good. PC Flank has firewall reviews and downloads, and scans to test your system's security after you install one.

Get the free one for personal use. You can easily get it at CNET Downloads by typing Sygate into the search area, if you have trouble finding it at the Sygate homepage.

I started out with the intent to download Kerio but wonder if I'm computer savvy enough to run any of them? My search has me tail between my legs and running...LOL.
