See the 'More' button above?

Clicking it does this

Surprisingly, that question has come up before (once or twice)

We've heard that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could produce the complete works of Shakespeare; now, thanks to the Internet, we know that is not true

There are about 4 or 5 of them you can get for free.. AVG,Comodo ,Bitdefender and antiVir...
AVG and Bitdefender are real good...
If you want both AV and firewall ,then go with
Comodo....Comodo has a real good firewall.

Bitdefender might be good - I don't recall it being free (beyond the evaluation version)

Comodo? If you say so:

Comodo AntiVirus will be available for user in the first week of May 2006. Comodo AntiSpyware is still under development which may take couple of months.

Bitdefender v 8.0 is free and you can find it on the net, just like I did. Also Comodo has been out for awhile already, I downloaded last week from its site ,and I am testing it as
I speak. The Antivus is not bad,But the firewall is real good and passed Shields UP
Test... Bitdefender Pro Plus I am testing on one of my other computers,And it is real good,In fact it is the 2006 antiVirus winner.

"and you can find it on the net, just like I did"

Gosh - really? Thanks, I'll do my very best

Ah,well, here we go (took almost .8 seconds) from their Evaluation page: Bitdefender 8 Free Edition

I gather the 'Pro' version you mention is actually version 9, and not free

As already stated in the discussion from the previous link, 'Comodo' is barely a week old (in this incarnation) and can only be considered as new & untried

thanks for playing along at home

Well I am glad to see you had no problems
finding Bitdefender 8.0.. the FREE version..
And yes, I am using the 9.0 pro plus version.
And Most versions of anything that is a Pro Version is not free..And as I said I have had Comodo for over a week or two testing it..
And I will say it is not bad.
Thanks for your opinion jBOy ...

AntiVir has the better detection rates, but no mail scanner.Avast has the mail scanner.BitDefender free is a scanner only, probably has the best detection rates for a free program.
I would take AntiVir myself.

JB.
