Subject: Golden Palace Casino Popup@ RestartOS: Windows XP SP1CPU/Ram: pentium iv 2.53ghz 533 fr |
Comment: Alright I really have two problems but mebbie if I can fix this golden palace casino problem they will both go away. I use adaware 6.0 and spybot s & d but neither of them seem to be catching the problems I am having... looking closely on this popup however that seems to come up each time I restart (yah I restart and I am bombarded with popups before I even visit websites...) anyway each time I restart I am given this popup which says that I have golden palace casino software installed on my computer and my system32 folder is coming up despite not having it open when I restarted... These have become quite the nuisance and I do believe SOMETHING possibly the casino thing is drastically slowing down my computer. I have dsl and the time it takes to use AIM or just open a basic webpage is as if I was on dialup... I was looking up on the internet ways of trying to get rid of my problems... so someone mentioned trying hijackthis v1.97.7 so I did that but my problem is I am not EXACTLY sure which things I am supposed to delete. I REALLY need help so that my computer goes back to normal. Any help that anyone could give me would be GREATLY appreciated. Thx. This is my log from hijackthis... Reply: (edit)Actually my other post worked for a while 2 restarts)....I jumped the gun on dispensing advice...BUT This seems to be working: Download the free version of Zone Alarm and go to the "program access" menu....it should list Playtech Casino Engine and block its access to the internet, or use the "program access" feature in your current firewall and do the same....then it cannot download the installer to your machine. This is kind of a band-aid until all of its components can finally be removed. Peace

Reply: (edit)Help! I've tried the somewhat sparse advice available on the Internet to get rid of this stuff too. BUT no dice (pun intended). Golden Palace casino garbage keeps popping up whenever I first log into my computer and start it up in the morning. HELP Seems Ad Aware and Spy Bot is not catching this stuff.

Reply: (edit)Get rid of any reference to keyhost.exe and keyhost.htm on your comp. Usually found in C:/Windows/System 32 , your startup and also in your registry. Also check the same as above for version.exe, located in the same places as above too. to remove from startup open up run from start button and type msconfig , then choose Startup and untick any reference to keyhost or version.exe Hope it works for you.

Reply: (edit)Ok, I have been having problems with spyware ever since I clicked on one of those AIM virus things - the one that says "I saw %n's picture here," or whatever it says. I think that is when it all started, anyway. I don't know if it is related, but whether or not it is, I am having this Golden Palace Casino problem as well. I have been messing around a lot with getting rid of other spyware by downloading Kazaa Lite and all that, but this is getting out of hand. I want to stop this mess before my browser is hijacked. Another thing which may or may not be related is that when I get popups, it often stops my screensaver, which is annoying. I just downloaded HijackThis v1.97.7. Here is my log file: Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\WINDOWS\opsrkxpk.exe C:\WINDOWS\eoudrjza.exe C:\Program Files\syslaunch.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\jylkua.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\rykdvhjc.exe C:\Program Files\PestPatrol\PPControl.exe C:\PROGRA~1\PESTPA~1\PPMemCheck.exe C:\PROGRA~1\PESTPA~1\CookiePatrol.exe C:\PROGRA~1\COMETS~1\DM\bin\dmserver.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\GEARSEC.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe C:\Program Files\AIM\aim.exe C:\Program Files\Netropa\One-touch Multimedia Keyboard\MMKeybd.exe C:\Program Files\Netropa\One-touch Multimedia Keyboard\KEYBDMGR.EXE C:\PROGRA~1\Netropa\Onscre~1\OSD.exe C:\Program Files\Netropa\One-touch Multimedia Keyboard\MMUSBKB2.EXE C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 4.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Abby Grodin\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Directory 1 for hijackthis.zip\HijackThis.exe R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.blazefind.com/search.php?search=%s R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://www.blazefind.com R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.hamline.edu/ R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.hamline.edu R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://files.cc.cometsystems.com/assist/cc/1.0/1B/assist.html R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Window Title = Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by Hamline University R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://www.blazefind.com O2 - BHO: (no name) - {71ED4FBA-4024-4bbe-91DC-9704C93F453E} - (no file) O2 - BHO: CSBHO - {D14D6793-9B65-11D3-80B6-00500487BDBA} - C:\PROGRA~1\COMETS~1\Platform\Bin\csbho.dll O2 - BHO: (no name) - {EFAC4563-91CB-B2E9-59D9-BAC1E5CCB7D6} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkjuggnd.dll O3 - Toolbar: &Radio - {8E718888-423F-11D2-876E-00A0C9082467} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\msdxm.ocx O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DeadAIM] rundll32.exe "C:\Program Files\AIM\\DeadAIM.ocm",ExportedCheckODLs O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iTunesHelper] C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [wzvcqxil] C:\WINDOWS\opsrkxpk.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [lodwuovm] C:\WINDOWS\eoudrjza.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iehelper] C:\Program Files\syslaunch.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [o] C:\WINDOWS\System32\jylkua.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [v] C:\WINDOWS\System32\mifpna.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [uiminiun] C:\WINDOWS\System32\rykdvhjc.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PestPatrol Control Center] C:\Program Files\PestPatrol\PPControl.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PPMemCheck] C:\PROGRA~1\PESTPA~1\PPMemCheck.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CookiePatrol] C:\PROGRA~1\PESTPA~1\CookiePatrol.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DM_Server] C:\PROGRA~1\COMETS~1\DM\bin\dmserver.exe /onreboot O9 - Extra button: AIM (HKLM) O9 - Extra button: Real.com (HKLM) O12 - Plugin for .wma: C:\PROGRAM FILES\NETSCAPE\COMMUNICATOR\PROGRAM\PLUGINS\npdsplay.dll O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://www.hamline.edu O16 - DPF: Dialpad US Java Applet - http://www.dialpad.com/applet/src/vscp.cab O16 - DPF: Yahoo! Reply: (edit)Golden palace is nothing more than a terrible worm that invades your computer that you can play games on. I have tried all of the above and just when you think it's gone it comes back! My DSL has slowed and my other programs too. I wish there was a microsoft fix-it to once and for all vaporize this program and block it from comming back. It is selfish $$$ programs like this that get people so mad that they want the goverment to create laws, and we shouldn't have to go there. BEWARE of the new WORM it's called "GOLDEN PALACE" Help!
