Hi, this is a wierd one and I haven't seen it anywhere else. It sometimes (about 40% of the time) takes my computer 3 mins just to check the nvram when I first turn it on. I have never flashed the bios, so I am thinking that this could be a virus.
Have been searching the internet for ages, but have never come accross anything similar. The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA71-XE and it has AmiBIOS version 1.23.
PLEASE help someone, waiting this long to boot up is beyond a joke!
PS - started around the same time as I networked the computer, but i think it happened a couple of times before that.

Have you checked your RAM? Try removing one of your sticks of RAM. Then try using no more than a max of 256 in any combination of RAM that you have, instead of 320.

Thanks for that - I will check the combination of memory in the computer. I had already disabled the memory test, it seemed to be happening before it even got that far.
Don't you just find it annoying when these things only happen some of the time!
