getting rid of a trojan

hello all,

can someone help me get rid of malware with
description as follows?

Trojan-BackDoor-CZP is a remote access Trojan that that may allow a hacker to gain unrestricted access to your computer when you are online.

Apreciate your help/advice,

go here and download the image

burn it to a cd with some image burning software ( you can google for it and choose one )

then boot from it ( how to boot from cd )

NOTE : When burning the image use low-speed or you can have troubles to read it

Backdoor trojans are nasty!

Best to reformat hdd and reinstall os.

First shot is to run an antimalware application and review the log file it creates:

post the log.

Run SAS too...

hello,
thanks for all those responses.
i dont want to reinstall OS, cause I just installed a secondary OS (ubuntu 9.04 ) which runs fine.
it is a friends computer and shes got a lot of photo and data on her machine.
Her XP OS is a lame duck right now, I am writing this
using ubuntu.
I will try anser 6 to bring her XP back to live again.

Really apreciate your frinedly advice

I would use ubuntu to back up "a lot of photo and data on her machine", first.
