Comment:

hey. I have this file called 1.exe in my c: drive. It follows path c:\1.exe - if i delte it, it comes back 15 minutes later. Norton Antivirus doesn't pick it up as a virus, i have all the latest defs. Ad-aware with the latest defs doenst pick it up as anything dangerous. Even so, I still don't like it. It's starting to get really annoying, I do alot of internet shopping and I am very serious when it comes to security, don't want any keylogger type things on. Has any1 else had trouble with a respawning 1.exe.

Thanks.

try placing in trash,
try booting in safe mode, and delete,
also empty temp folder,
try scans again, check msconfig for link to file and disable,
check start>programs>startup and disable if there,
using regedit search for 1.exe and delete,
...:)

It looks like a virus by looking at the parapraph 6. at this link http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.beagle.ay@mm.html

You might try running this free online virus scan http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ It takes a while but is worth it.

Before you run it turn off System Restore then turn it back on once you have removed the virus.

You should do some clean-up to help reduce the scan time:
1. Go to start>control panel>folder options>view>and check the circle beside "show hidden files and folders">apply>ok..
2. Go to C:\windows\temp and delete the contents of the folder(not the folder)
3. Go to C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch and delete the contents of the foldr(not the folder)

Then for all the users of the computer delete the files in the following folders if found:
C:\Documents and settings\cookies
C:\documents and Settings\Local Settings\History
C:\Documents and Settings\Local Settings\Temp
C:\Documents and Settings\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
The index files will not delete.

Try updating your current antivirus and run it from Safe Mode then while still in safe mode run you anti spyware programs making sure to update them first.
