So, I know this topic has been discussed before on these forums...but none have been what happening to me. I'll be on the net for awhile than the Generic Host Process will have an error and have to close. I've tried rolling back drivers, scanning for malware/spyware viruses with 3 different programs, updated windows, downloaded the patch for my problem but still, no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thats an error with one of your svchost.exe processes.

Try a system restore or repair install.

s6khill, the first 3 in the list on that search have some good info on your problem, if you've already tried them, please disregard my answer, thanks

Yes, I've tried all those too but with no luck. All I know about it is that it has to do with the last shutdown and something not closing right and that HP drivers have a tendency to cause it. So I uninstalled my HP printer stuff and it still does it. I'm stumped. Even being A+ Certified hasnt helped me haha wow sad huh?

If you can, get someone else's install disk and try a repair install. I'm guessing that those files are corrupt on your disk.
