Subject: Generic Host for Win32/ DEPOS: Windows XPCPU/Ram: no idea |
Comment: My computer, as of late, has been having issues-- it's not running, it's belly-crawling toward the sweet oblivion of death. I think it may have someting to do with a message that's been popping up of late; it tells me that the "Data Execution Prevention" program is stopping my Generic Host Process for Win32 services from running, apparently because it's trying to run malicious code or use the wrong memory or something. I'm fairly sure it's not just a virus or anything; I've run Norton, Spybot, and AdAware, and none of them came up with anything. If anyone has any idea what the problem is, please reply! Thanks, Maria Rosenfire

Reply: (edit)I was going to try to do what jabuck's link said, but I realized that I have no idea where Generic Host Program is. If anyone knows its approximate location, it would be a great help, seeing as it is necessary so that I can stop DEP from messing with it. I've tried searching for it, but I don't know what the file name is so it's not much good. Thanks, Maria P.S. Thanks, jabuck. I'd have NO idea what I was doing if you hadn't posted the message.
